The second floor could be held for parties and opened as the first floor filled. It also had the pizzeria and deliveries went out the side door.

The next 5 frames essentially show the same view of the second floor. This is just after gutting. In the background just off-center to the right is the elevator shaft.

Here the framing is complete and ready for rock.

The rock is up in most areas and the painters put on a prime coat. Framing for a soffit and the ply wall demarcates between the seating area and the pizza kitchen. Under plastic and centered in the background you can just make out the pizza oven.

The painting crew, most were off-duty police, firemen or worked for City Parks and reflected ethnic makeup of their departments and the patronage system. For a fact, represented here are the political power base in Chicago politics, from left to right we have descendents of Italy, Ireland and Poland.

Touch-ups and fixtures yet to set, the chairs are stacked and ready to place around tables...opening can only be days away.

The staggered lighting follows the winding stairs. Looking straight back is the pizza kitchen.

The monster pizza oven is a restored 50's model with rotating trays that can handle 50 pizzas at once.
