There is a cutting operation in Ukraine, and it supplied a large amount of wood for the factory in the Czech Republic.

A consolidation yard where the logs are brought in to sort and grade.

Men push logs off a car where a crane can grab them and start the sorting process.

Looking down the length of the yard, most of this material was used to produce parquet in the factory to the rear.

Inside the factory that made the parquet flooring.

A slash-gang saw in operation at our yard. These beasts were soon replaced by vertical band saws. One common problem encountered while cutting the logs was hitting bullets lodged in the trees since WWII.
