Porcini  1993

A small Italian restaurant on Halsted near Diversey. Porcini is a type of mushroom and the specialty here was northern Italian cuisine.

No, this isn't Tony. This is the chef he brought over from Italy to cook. The first day he tried to use the pans hung on the wall and Tony had to tell him that it was just decoration.

Now this was something he could relate to, pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven.

The pizza oven is in the background and to the right, the fire place actually worked and like the bar it was brought in by Tony. You can see how the power was brought up the the crown moling through a chase in the stub wall.

Looking in the opposite direction from the previous frame towards the front of the building, twilight, and the full effect of the washed ceiling.

Going vertical!

Swithing directions and looking back once more towards the pizza oven.

Focus on the crown, this was all cut on a table saw and milled on site.

The full view of the dining area with the line kitchen in the back.

And finally, coming full circle to how it looks today, PEG LEG SULLIVANS.
